A group of 30 youth from Jinja and Mbale districts underwent a 3 month training and mentorship organized and curated by Digital Grassroots Youth Hub trainers under the guidance of our team leaders Prossy Kawala and Bruce Vitalis. The three areas of training consisted of;
- Leadership Skills
- Digital Skills
- Financial Literacy
Leadership Training
The leadership training led by Maimuna Nakadama provided participants with the insight and qualities needed to offer leadership in their respective fields. Sessions were designed to have participants share their experiences and how they have exhibited leadership qualities throughout their journey.

Digital Skills Training
Following the leadership training, participants underwent a 2 weeks training in Digitals skills and competences. The sessions curated and facilitated by Tumwine Edward provided a learner centered and practical approach to digital tools. Sessions on graphic design, website development, audio and video production were conducted to ensure each learner attained a digital skill that can enhance their work and productivity.

Financial Literacy Training
The third aspect covered was Financial literacy and this was led by Lillian Nabirye. As a seasoned Finance consultant she provided tips, skills and tools on how to handle finances. These sessions provided a practical approach to how one can manage personal and organization finances when entrusted with.
We also hosted a guest facilitator and Financial Consultant, Brian Kisembo who provided insight on how to use dofferent digital tools in Finance.
Graduation and Certificate Awarding
On 26th July 2025, we held a graduation and certificate awarding ceremony for the participants. It was a reflective and experience sharing ceremony where we discussed and shared key insights obtained from the training in all the three aspects. We encouraged the youth to adopt and apply these skills in their daily work to make them more employable, effeceint and purposeful with theor work.
